In this period, the field coalesced around mobile and ubiquitous technologies and web-enabled platforms that extend language learning beyond the classroom. Studies emphasized in-class and distance access via portable devices, wireless networks, streaming media, and context-aware resources, paired with collaborative and constructivist activities online. The role of teacher knowledge and professional development as central to ICT-supported pedagogy became clear, and methodological work increasingly compared ICT-based approaches with traditional instruction while exploring multimedia integration and project-based learning.
